Rider and Machine Competition Classes For 2009
Advanced A Class
For 2009 we have created a new class for the better one line riders. They will ride on the new zero line whenever it is available. When it is not available they will ride the one line. This class will be for both Modern and Vintage bikes. It will be a non-trophy class this year. If participation warrants it will become a trophy class in the future. We will not require clubs to set up a zero line unless they feel qualified to do so. We would like better one line riders and those who wish to ride this line to set it up. With safety as a concern, we may ask for spotters at the difficult obstacles on this line. This class will be on a trial basis for 2009.
Vintage Classes
Vintage classes will include all rigid and twin shock machines. These bikes must have drum brakes and the engines must be air-cooled. A's will compete on the one line, AB's on the two line, B's on the three line and C's on the four line.
Modern Classes
Modern classes will include all Monoshock machines, whether air-cooled or liquid-cooled, with either drum or disc brakes. Twinshock machines with disc brakes or non-period suspension will also compete in the Modern classes. A's will compete on line one, AB's on line two, B's on line three, and C's on line four.
Exhibition Classes
Exhibition classes have been created for riders who do not wish to compete for a trophy. Any rider may sign up in the Exhibition class of his choice depending on the line he/she wishes to ride. Exhibition A will be for riders on the one line. For line two it is Exhibition AB, for line three it is Exhibition B, and for line four it is Exhibition C. Competitors in these classes will have their scores and placements recorded, along with series' points. Members will be eligible for year-end awards as in all other trophy classes. They will not receive event trophies.
Vintage Subclasses
Heavyweight Vintage class machines are eligible for separate year end awards in
(Vintage Heavyweight). Riders of these machines will sign up in any Vintage class and compete on that class' line against other Vintage machines. They will be required to complete only one loop plus one section to be considered a "finisher". They will be given five points for each section not attempted. At the series' end they will be eligible for a trophy in their subclass as well as their Vintage class.
